Wheelie Adventurous

I brought a white motorbike in honor of Paki the Argentinian horse from my Patagonian adventures trip. I wanted to go one step further and give him spots also but that didn’t work out and settled for a sticker set from Signature Custom Designs based out of Cyprus.

They make the sets per order and took little over a week to arrive. My first impression was a professional  product and top quality material. The colors they used are near perfect and the designer did a good job with the lines which work well with the aggressive edgy GSA LC design.

Application is relatively straight forward and towards the end of the job I was getting quite drunk and still managed to get a good application.

Things to look out for:

Cold – More so on the tank because it’s metal but you will find it easier to apply the vinyl stickers in warmer conditions. Use a heat gun or hairdryer to warm the area. The plastic areas are fine but don’t heat to much, the vinyl and glue melt fast.

Overflow – Make sure to finish the lines. Overflow the stickers past edges and between parts. No one really sees these details but you will.

Time – Take your time and do it properly. Estimate 3-4 hours if you have never done it before.

Alignment – Check twice for the position and mark the stickers with pencil, align two points and your good to go.

Unaligned decals – If you are a bit off, it doesn’t matter. It will never be perfect and put the stickers where you think looks cool.

Beer – This is a job that’s done better with a beer in the hand. Period.

Don’t be dirty – Clean clean clean. If it’s not clean it will not work and won’t stick. Use degreaser and clean in stages, wet clean > degreaser > final clean and dry on immediate area when you are ready to apply the decals.

Fingernails – They are the best to get tricky bits put in place. Use a soft plastic card for all the other areas.

The company missed two of my emails for some reason but where extremely helpful when contact was made. Check your spam folder.  It’s amazing the difference the decals make to the bike. It looks awesome and I’m very pleased with the result.
